Primary Schools

Storytelling at Your Service brings the exciting world of theatrical storytelling to the comfort of your primary school.

I currently offer two storytelling experiences, each with unique workshops.

My sessions include an original, oral story - complete with theatrical props - followed by a collaborative workshop inspired by the story. Students participate actively and physically in these open-ended workshops. A rich and diverse selection of props are offered - props which speak loudly to young people’s imaginations and curiosity - allowing each and every student to be hands-on and physically involved in creating story and designing landscapes and characters through their own lens, their own interpretations. Team work is encouraged throughout. Drawing and documentation may follow, either within the workshop space or supported in your own time. My collaborative approach offers authentic learning - where we enter the world of our heads, hearts and hands (thinking, feeling and doing) - in a bid to help young people make meaning. In so doing, we create sustained shared thinking, encourage listening and communication skills, and promote young people’s agency and the co-construction of their own learning. Story sessions can, of course, be used as the foundation for further exploration and learning, as pathways of individual and group interest emerge.
